Hello and Happy Hump Day Friends!

Hope all is well in your part of the world, just trying to get things together here, but I thought I would share something we are trying to get a handle on.
I am quite sure we are going to have less stuff this year. We still have a bunch of fiber to process, but it's not a quick fix, and we are trying to figure out what we will have when we will get it.
Crescent spinning mill is spinning yarns currently, the sock knitters at Nester Hosiery are making stuff as fast as they can and our other knitter, the Knitting Mill in Liberty Hill, has also gotten busier this year, I did just get an order in for more ponchos and blankets from Faribault Mills (those disappeared really fast last season)
With interest in bison at an all time high, with the Smithsonian exhibit, and the new bison stamp, and the whole interest in prairie resurgence, of course the film Native:Keystone and with supply being really tight right now. I have spent the last 3 days looking at spreadsheets and the sales trends, and staring at the three news program and podcast invites we have, to come talk about bison and bison products, and the article I have been asked to write for a hunting magazine, and we are still trying to make socks for some professional sports teams, this is a whole new avenue we haven't gone down before. Could be fun though... I am kinda excited about this if we can make it happen.
We are afraid we are gonna run out sooner than usual this season.. SO, if you need anything, I am going to recommend you grab it when you can. I think we might get to take November/December off this year. Yeah, we all know that isn't actually gonna happen, but it will be a lot of emails asking when we will restock... those are always fun.
Looking back at the journey to get here, it's been filled with challenges, some pretty big, some small, but because we aren't quitters, and you wonderful people have been here to support us, we will figure things out. I just wanted to share where we are, and what is going on.

Hope you have a wonderful day.

Ron & T and the crew here at the Buffalo Wool Company.

The forecast said a huge rainstorm was finally going to hit the other day, but it passed us by.
It was a mist opportunity.

Bison are orchestrating one of the greatest ecological comebacks in North American history.

For over a century, the American bison of the Great Plains and Yellowstone National Park were fractured, their massive herds divided into isolated subpopulations by roads, fences, and human-driven habitat disruption.
But in a stunning wildlife triumph, these artificial boundaries have dissolved. Without human intervention, the bison are instinctively reuniting and reclaiming ancient, cross-boundary migration routes that had been dormant since the early 20th century.
This historic movement is not just a reunion; it is a collective remembering of ancestral paths, signaling a dramatic shift in how these legendary creatures interact with their native landscape.
As these unified herds march across the grasslands, they act as ultimate ecosystem engineers. The heavy stomping of their hooves breaks up packed soil, allowing native seeds to take root, while their grazing patterns stimulate the growth of nutrient-rich plants.
Additionally, the depressions left by their dust wallows capture rainfall to create temporary watering holes for other wildlife, distributing vital nutrients across the plains. By allowing bison to roam freely and reclaim their historic migration corridors, nature is proving that wild ecosystems thrive best when their original caretakers are given the space to lead the way.

The Great Bison Bash @ the Bison Discovery Center

Rod is one of our favorite bison producers and winemakers... truly a great guy. Love seeing him get recognized for all the work he does.

His work reflects a dedication to animal husbandry, land management, and the continued advancement of bison agriculture for future generations
"Because of the generosity of our sponsors, donors, attendees, volunteers, and community supporters, the 2026 Great Bison Bash was a tremendous success—raising nearly $80,000 to support the mission of the North American Bison Discovery Center! Together, we are helping preserve the legacy of the American bison for generations to come." -Ilana Xinos
